Webster Wrestling Kickoff

By Ashley Hurlbut

Staff Writer

The first wrestling match of the season was Dec. 3 at 6 p.m. The Webster wrestling team faced off against Edison High School.

The match was very close. Edison won the match only because of a forfeit. Webster forfeited because the team didn’t have a wrestler in the heavy weight class. The final score was 33 to 36. “I thought our boys did amazing and there were some really exciting matches,” Lesa Venetoff, assistant to Webster Dean Mary Miller and parent of a Webster wrestler, said.

The turnout for Webster was a small crowd. “I appreciate the people who came out to support the wrestlers, but I would encourage more people to come out and support the boys on Dec.15 at home against Jay,” Mrs. Venetoff said.
